“My name is Mariska Le Roux, and my son, Mason Le Roux, has been attending the Bright Haven class. I am truly grateful for everything the teachers are doing for him, and the other children that goes to Bright Haven.
Bright Haven is more than just a class. The children learn art, gardening, music, making different projects, and many other practical skills. At the same time, the teachers never lose sight of the reason these children are there. They continue helping them improve their reading, writing, and maths every day.
The biggest change I have seen is in Mason’s reading. Before joining Bright Haven, he struggled to read. Today, he can read, and he continues to improve day by day. That progress means so much to me as his mother, and our family as a whole.
I also believe Bright Haven helps children grow in confidence and behaviour. When children are encouraged to take part in activities they genuinely enjoy, they become more willing to learn, ask for help, and do their best. They take pride in what they do so they always try their best. As they build confidence in those activities, their reading, writing, maths, and other skills improve naturally as well.
I cannot thank the Bright Haven team enough for their patience, care, and dedication. They are making a real difference – even if it’s small – in the lives of these children, and I highly appreciate everything they do. The change might be small, but it’s not insignificant. It’s real.”
